Natalie Hopper Counselling

Hi I’m Natalie,

I’m a counsellor-in-training in the final year of my Master of Counselling with the University of Auckland. I offer low-cost counselling for adults and older adolescents in a warm, respectful, and non-judgmental space. Alongside my current counselling training, I also hold a Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy.

My approach is integrative and collaborative, meaning we’ll work together to understand what’s going on for you and what kind of support might help. You don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to show up — as you are.

Some weights are visible, others quietly gather beneath the surface. If you're feeling lost, burdened, or simply in need of space to breathe — we can find a way through, together.

My Approach

Every person is unique, and so is the way we work together. My approach is integrative and flexible — drawing from a range of therapeutic models to suit your needs. My training includes both counselling and psychotherapy, which supports a deep, responsive way of working — whether you're looking for practical support, emotional insight, or space to explore deeper patterns.

At the heart of our work is a collaborative relationship: we move at your pace and explore what matters most to you.

Some areas I have experience in include:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Depression and low mood

  • Relationship challenges

  • Grief and loss

  • Trauma and difficult life experiences

As I complete my clinical training, I’m offering counselling for just $50 per session — making support more accessible while I continue building my experience under regular professional supervision.

 FAQs

  • $50 per session

  • I hold a Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and am currently in the final year of a Master of Counselling at the University of Auckland. As part of my training, I’m working under regular professional supervision while I complete my clinical hours. This means you'll receive thoughtful, supported care in a safe, ethical, and well-supervised environment.

  • That varies from person to person. Some people come for a few sessions, others for longer-term support. We’ll check in together as we go to see what’s working for you.

  • Not at all. Some people come with a clear issue in mind, while others just feel stuck or unsettled. Counselling can be a space to explore whatever’s going on for you, even if you’re not sure what that is yet.
